This month’s Employee Spotlight features, Jay Boughner, our Controller. Jay oversees financial reporting and information technology. Jay’s colleagues had some great things to say about him:

What is your proudest moment at Fanimation?
It’s probably not any single moment for me, but the impressive growth we’ve achieved these past several years despite the tough economic conditions.
Where is your favorite place to eat?
That depends entirely on the meal. Breakfast is my favorite meal especially at places like the Egg and I. Outside of that, my favorite place to eat is always outdoors, on a patio or sidewalk spot like at Matt the Millers.
Where would you like to go on a dream vacation?
Extensive traveling has always been a dream of mine – the most recent addition to my list is hiking El Camino de Santiago, a 30-day hike across northern Spain.
Tell us three things most people don’t know about you…
- I want to master finger-style guitar playing
- I collect coins
- I’ve played the lead role in the musical Annie Get Your Gun.
What’s on your iPod?
What’s NOT on my iPod? My music tastes are all over the board – but I most frequently am caught listening to upbeat Pop/Hip Hop music while exercising.
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to see cast as you?
George Clooney.
What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?
After donating 10% of it and funding my kids’ college savings accounts, I’d probably start a business that would incorporate my desire to travel.
What is your favorite drink?
Coffee is my friend.
If you were stuck on an island what three things would you bring?
My family, a Bible and a guitar.
What is your most embarrassing moment?
In college I left my car running in the driveway and ran into my fraternity house to grab some forgotten books, when I returned my car had rolled down the hill and demolished the sign of the fraternity across the street.
What is the first concert you attended?
The first big concert I saw was Sting. I also once walked in on an impromptu concert by John Mellencamp and Lou Reed at a bar while celebrating a friend’s 21st birthday.
What is your favorite sports team?
Currently, the Indianapolis Colts, but historically I’m a big Dallas Cowboys fan and of course I’m a big IU Basketball fan. I watched Bob Knight throw the infamous chair from across the court, and celebrated in Showalter fountain after IU’s 1987 National Championship.
