With LED lighting technology reaching new heights in both quality and reliability, this seems like a great application for it. Hi Brian. Excellent questions! The Zonix LED includes a 6″ downrod. You can order a close to ceiling kit as an accessory with this fan which will make the distance from ceiling to blade 8.88″. The longest downrod available is 72″. The LED light assembly is designed to last 40,000 hours and will need to be replaced at the end of this time period. Please contact your local Fanimation distributor for pricing on a replacement light assembly.
