Serving as the focal point for this lakeside master bedroom, The Palisade helped Matty Adler, of Echelon Custom Homes, design the rest of the room which was recently featured on Houzz.com.
“The Palisade was the inspiration for this room,” Adler said. “We knew we wanted to use it, so we used dark furniture to go with it. We planned around the fan.”
The Palisade was a likely choice for this designer due to the feel it gave this room. The owners wanted something light and airy for their master bedroom, and this ceiling fan combined that with the feel of a beach house, according to Adler.
To showcase the Palisade in this room, Adler chose vaulted, white ceilings which worked well with the rest of the color palette in the room.
This home had beautiful views and Adler wanted to accentuate these and capture the beach theme for the home. “The white trim work makes the space in this room,” Adler said. “And the lighting is the jewelry for the room.”
More about the Designer:
Matty Adler has worked for Echelon Custom Homes for six years as a designer. He graduated from Florida State University with an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts, hen he received his master’s degree from Rhode Island School of Design in Interior Architecture and Design.
Adler’s philosophy on designing: First it needs to be functional, then it can be beautiful. Something can be the most beautiful, but if it isn’t functional then it isn’t worth it.
He enjoys working in residential design and working with his customers throughout the whole design process, said Adler.
“I’m one of those people who really loves my job,” Adler said. “Every project is a new day. Each day is a new job. I also love the interaction with people and working with them from start to finish.”
